The Easy Link Scope

A Scope in Easy Link describes where a Link / Bookmark, Item, or file belongs to:

Scope Display Description
* The current Item, such as a "Diamond" shape
c The current drawing, such as "C:\My Repository\Proposal.vsd"
i A drawing or other file in the current Repository (in the main folder or a sub-folder)
o A drawing or other file outside of the current Repository

For example for the highlighted row:

visio_EasyLink.PNG (21675 bytes)

  1. The window caption shows that the drawing file is in the current Repository ("i")
  2. The current Repository is  visio_EasyLink_CurrentRepository.PNG (512 bytes) which is displayed at the top right corner of the "Links & Bookmarks" list
  3. The highlighted row is a Link belonging to the current Item ("*")
  4. It's an Item Link (visio_EasyLink_ItemLink.PNG (349 bytes)) that links to an "Item 2" on Page "Page-1" of the same drawing ("c")

Other examples:

  1. The last row is a File Link (visio_EasyLink_FileLink_Yellow.PNG (1017 bytes))  that links to a URL (http://www.AmazingVisio.com) which is outside of the current Repository ("o").   In addition, the bold display indicates that it's the default link.

  2. The first row is a Bookmark (visio_EasyLink_Bookmark.PNG (373 bytes)) of a drawing in the current Repository ("C:\My Repository\Proposal - 2nd.vsd".  This piece of information will show on the window title if you click the row).
