The Easy Publish Window

This main window of Easy Publish shows when you click this icon visio_EasyLink_FileLink.PNG (213 bytes) on the Toolbar:

Use this window to:

  1. Publish your drawing offline

  2. Get ready to publish online (to Web)

Easy Publish generates one picture file for each page.  These picture files are in the PNG format that has small size but high display quality (Click here for details).

In the simplest form, you can choose a destination and then press the Publish button.

Easy will automatically insert all the selected pages into your Word or PowerPoint document, or generate pages like these.

Alternatively, you can choose different options (such as the pages to publish), or rotate a page or add a caption.  

Choosing Pages to Publish

This Pages list shows all the pages.  You can choose any number of pages to publish.  Click the visio_EasyPublish_Select.PNG (328 bytes) to toggle the selection of all the pages. 

Adding a Caption to a Page

Click the visio_EasyPublish_Caption.PNG (341 bytes) button to add a caption (click here for details).  An asterisk ("*") is added to the page display (such as 2* Requirement_xxx).

Changing Caption Display

Use this toolbar to change the caption display:

Rotating a Page

Use these buttons to rotate a page: visio_EasyPublish_Rotate.PNG (578 bytes).  Click here for details.

Previewing a Page

To preview a page after you have choosen different options, click the visio_EasyPublish_Preview.PNG (396 bytes) button or double-click the picture display.

Publishing Your Drawing

Choose one of the options from this list visio_EasyPublish_Destination.PNG (990 bytes) and then click the  visio_EasyPublish_Publish.PNG (440 bytes) button.   For details, please:

Saving the Specific Data File with Your Drawing

A data file with a name of YourDrawing_AMZPublish.ini is created in your drawing's file folder to keep your input on this window, such as the pages to publish and the captions.  This way, you don't have to re-enter the information the next time you publish your drawing.

Remember to move this file along with your drawing.  Rename it accordingly when you rename your drawing.

Avoid Using Default Page Names

Default page names, such as "Page-1", may change automatically and cause problems.  Click here to see how you can stop this from happening.

  • Caption: To add a caption to a page
  • Left: To rotate a page anti-clockwise
  • Right: To rotate a page clockwise
  • Original: To restore a page to its original orientation
  • Preview: To preview a page
  • Select: To toggle the selection of all pages
  • Publish: To publish your drawing
  • Close: To save your setting and close the window
