Limitations of Visio 2000

Visio 2000 has some limitations that need your attention.

Installing PNG Picture Filter

You need to (re)install Microsoft Office on your computer before Visio 2000 can export page pictures in the PNG format -- the one that Easy Publish uses.

When Easy Publish can't get the files exported from Visio,  you need to check the availability of the filter with the following steps:

  1. Open a drawing.
  2. Choose menu File and then Save As.
  3. Choose HTML as the Save as Type.
  4. Choose PNG from the Graphics Format list.
  5. Click OK.  You should be able to export and view the Web pages.

If you don't see PNG as an option, install Microsoft Office and then repeat the above steps.

You may need to reinstall Office after you have reinstalled Visio.

One Hyperlink Only, No Custom Properties

Visio 2000 exports only one hyperlink per shape and no custom properties for Web publishing.  Because of this limitation, you see only one hyperlink and nothing else on the SmartMenu

Please upgrade your Visio to a later version if you need to show multiple hyperlinks or custom properties.

No Link to Other Pages of the Same Drawing

When exporting Web pages via its programming interface, Visio 2000 drops hyperlinks to other pages of the same drawing.  Therefore links to these pages will not be available.

Please upgrade your Visio to a later version if you need to show these links.
