Showing Custom PropertiesCustom Properties are the properties that you define for a shape to hold your own information. Please click here for details. You can access Custom Properties Web page via the SmartMenu. Click here to see a demo. Move your mouse over this shape Then choose When You Click... to show the custom properties window. The Web page shows the fields with values only. The Custom Properties window shows only when you need to see the information while Visio uses a frame panel to constantly occupy your screen space.
Advantage Two: Loads fast and shows fast. Each Custom Properties window is pre-built with only the information needed and nothing else while Visio uses a large XML file that stores all the information about your drawing and scans for the file to build the page every time you need to see the information. For example, the file size is over 160 times bigger in this demo. Advantage Three: Support both Internet Explorer and Netscape Navigator while Visio supports Internet Explorer only. Advantage Four: Fully customizable and easy to integrate. The display is controlled by templates that you can modify just like any regular Web pages while Visio only gives you minimal capacity to change things such as color.
