1. Getting Ready to Use Easy Link

This tutorial shows you how to get ready to use your Easy Link for the first time.

Use these steps to download a sample drawing and a set of files to be linked to. 

  1. Create a folder c:\My Tutorial

  2. Click your right mouse button here and then choose Save Target As to download a sample drawing Tutorial_2_Pages.vsd

  3. Save the drawing into the folder you just created

  4. Double click the drawing to open it with Visio

  5. Click your right mouse button here and then choose Save Target As to download a set of files to be linked to.  Keep this file (Tutorial_EasyLink.zip) under the same folder and then uncompress it with WinZip.

Use these steps to start Easy Link and choose a file folder as a Repository to keep you information. 

  1. Click your right mouse button on shape Make Decision.  Choose menu Amazing Visio - Easy Link.

  2. This message shows.  Click the OK button.

  3. This window shows.  Click the Add button.

  4. This window shows.  Click the Browse button.  Browse to c:\My Tutorial, click the Open button.

  5. Click the OK button.  Now your window looks like this:

  6. Click the OK button.

The main window of Easy Link now shows:

  • The window title "#Diamond" show the shape name, indicating the Current Item that you are working on.

  • The blank list is where the links and bookmarks will be displayed.   You can click eacy column to sort the display.  You can click your right mouse on the list to show the Action Menu:

  • The Data and File tabs are for data editing and file display.
